DR PHIL MUNRO

Phil qualified in Glasgow in 1989 and trained in the UK and Ireland before being appointed to a consultant post in Emergency Medicine at the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow in 2000. He has been involved in prehospital care for about 20 years initially with the Medic One team in Edinburgh then later in Cork and finally as one of the original, voluntary team members for what became the Emergency Medical Retrieval Service. Phil has special interests in Emergency Department design, equipment and systems management.  He is the medical lead for EMRS equipment selection and configuration.  

Phil plays Flamenco guitar, does Crossfit and is the only medically qualified instructor for the Israeli self defence system Krav Maga in the UK.  He lives in Paisley with his wife Joan and to the amusement of his EMRS team colleagues, hates flying.
