Neil is a consultant in Emergency Medicine at Monklands Hospital in Lanarkshire.  He went to medical school in Dundee before embarking on a wandering career path around Scotland, Wales and Australia. He has been with the Emergency Medical Retrieval Service since 2011 and previously worked in aeromedical retrieval in Queensland.

His particular interests include critical care, paediatrics, echocardiography, social media in emergency medicine and teaching.  Neil regularly teaches on ALS, APLS and TEAM courses in different parts of the UK and abroad.

The use of blood products in the pre-hospital field is Neil’s current interest within the EMRS team
