DR DOUG MAXWELL

Doug is an emergency medicine consultant based in Clyde and has worked with the EMRS since 2016 when he undertook the fellowship. He is passionate about delivering critical care to remote and rural Scotland and finds it a privilege to work amongst some of the most outstanding communities and landscapes of his home country. From his base specialty in emergency medicine and exposure to working in motorsport medicine, he has developed a keen interest in delivering quality trauma care to the most critically injured patients. He believes highly in the value of teaching and training to ensure the best care is delivered to the patient and is involved with both undergraduate and postgraduate training with this aim. 

Outside work, Doug is an enthusiastic skier, average mountain biker, borderline cyclist and particularly enjoys a family holiday.
