Having worked as a Charge Nurse in Emergency nursing at the Victoria Infirmary then the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Emergency Departments in Glasgow for over 20 years my career goal became securing a secondment then permanent position within EMRS at ScotSTAR.
During my nursing career I had a keen interest in trauma and was Faculty within the Advanced Trauma Nurse Course. Have completed ALS & APLS courses and with an increasing interest in pre - hospital care completed a Basics PHEC course, BATLS and Aeromed course.
My aims for the coming year include the London HEMS course, studying for PG Cert and Dip IMC exam.
With an interest in trauma, pre hospital care and rural and remote retrievals I look forward to working alongside the Retrieval Practitioners, Paramedics and Consultants and gaining experience in pre hospital care and the many other roles within the EMRS.
Away from work I enjoy mountain and road biking, hill walking and family life.
